Saturday's Game
This Saturday the THUNDER suffered a tough 0 to 1 loss to THE LEMON HEADS. The girls played tough the entire seventy minutes and had multiple shots on goal, but some tough luck, hitting the post and shooting wide, kept us from scoring. The defense was solid throughout the game, and with the exception of the one goal, really prevented the LEMON HEADS from attacking.
Sunday's Game
Sunday we played the light blue team in the BATTLE OF THE BLUES. This was a hard fought game with a lot of punch-counter punch action. The THUNDER defense turned things up a notch, with excellent play from all the girls. At fullbacks Anna, Caitlyn, Jessie, Kara, Jaime, and Maria were coming to the ball well and contesting every shot. The THUNDER were getting to every loose ball and controlling the play. On offense we had some excellent play from Julia, Morgan, Maria, Amanda, and Michelle with both Amanda and Michelle scoring goals. The midfield was also on fire with some toughnosed play from Kristen and Erika. Although the girls played a fantastic game, they were just edged out by the light blue team in a tough 3 to 2 loss.
